Gardaí are not treating as suspicious the death of a man whose body was found in Loughrea Lake yesterday morning.
The body was discovered at around 7am yesterday (Wednesday ) close to the Lakepoint Road.
Emergency services were called, and the man was removed from the water and pronounced dead at the scene. His body was brought to Portiuncula Hospital where a post mortem examination was due to be carried out.
The man, believed to be a local man in his fifties, had not been named at the time of going to press.
