Little Green Cars to support St Vincent

Irish indie band to make festival Big Top debut

LITTLE GREEN Cars, the acclaimed Irish indie band, will support St Vincent at her Galway International Arts Festival Big Top concert on Tuesday July 14.

Little Green Cars - Stevie Appleby, Dylan Lynch, Donagh Seaver O’Leary, Adam O’Regan, and Faye O’Rourke - have enjoyed critical acclaim since emerging in 2013 with the singles ‘The John Wayne’, ‘Harper Lee’, and ‘My Love Took Me Down To The River To Silence Me’.

Their debut album, Absolute Zero, was released earlier this year and went to No 1 in the Irish charts. It was also well received by critics, with Goldenplec.com praising the band’s “harmonious vocals, memorable lyrics, massive choruses and even bigger instrumentation. It’s not surprising that comparisons with Arcade Fire are being made already”. Nialler9 said it “establishes the band’s music as a concoction of the classic sounds of rock, folk, roots and Americana”. They are currently recording their second album, due for release later this year.

Headline act St Vincent recently won her first Grammy for Best Alternative Music Album, beating Arcade Fire, Alt-J, Cage The Elephant, and Jack White.

St Vincent and Little Green Cars is a ‘Galway International Arts Festival and Róisín Dubh presents...’ concert. Tickets are €35 from www.giaf.ie and roisindubh.net
