GALWAY FANS of the great We Banjo 3, who want to cheer on the band and have themselves recorded while doing so, should get down to the Róisín Dubh next weekend.
We Banjo 3 are recording their new album across two shows at the Dominick Street venue on Friday February 21 and Saturday 22, with doors for both shows at 8pm.
“Our fans have been begging us for a live album for some time now,” says WB3 member Enda Scahill, “so we are recording a live album in the Róisín over two nights. Tony O’Flaherty of Sonas Studios in Killarney is coming to record the album, and we will have a host of guests joining us on stage, including a four-piece brass section, percussion, backing singers, etc.”
In the meantime keen an eye on this weekend’s edition of RTÉ 1’s Saturday Night Show where We Banjo 3 will launch their new single ‘The Fox’, with Sharon Shannon. The band will also release a video for the song, directed by Mia Mullarkey, sister of Anna from Galway band My Fellow Sponges.
