Galway senior ladies, boosted by their opening day win in the NFL division 1, now host Dublin in Tuam Stadium (2pm ).
Galway will enter the match with confidence, but they will find the visitors, who enjoyed a nine-point victory over Monaghan last weekend, a tougher opposition.
There was much to admire in Galway’s opening day first division encounter with Laois, particuarly the nature of their 6-15 to 1-4 victory in Tuam on Sunday.
Continuing their fine form, which saw them promoted last season, Galway were in complete control in this win over visitors Laois.
Fullforward Tracey Leonard was in scoring form, notching 3-03. Her first-half goal, allied to Lucy Hannon’s effort, ensured Galway led 4-9 to 0-1 at the break.
However there was no respite for the outclassed Laois side as Gillian O’Connor and Aoife Newell added to the goal tally.
Although Charlotte Delaney scored a consolation goal for the visitors, it was the perfect start for Galway in this opening fixture.
