SEVENTIES JAZZ-funk fusion, dance grooves, fiery improvisation, and irresistible pop hooks are on the cards when Earthship touch down at Kelly’s this Saturday at 10pm
The band - Karl Clews (bass ), Mark Farrelly (keyboards ), Eoghan Judge (guitar ), Bart Kiely (drums ), and Paula Higgins (vocals ) - draw on the jazz-fusion influence of Miles Davis, Herbie Hancock, Weather Report, and Return To Forever, but with a very definite pop/rock slant, as heard on their EP, Proximity Effect, released last July, and its lead single ‘The Great Wheel’.
The band have played the Cork Jazz Festival, Electric Picnic, and Body & Soul. Admission is free. See www.earthshipband.com
