Treasure Island on stage and live on screen

Eye Cinema to broadcast classic pirate story live from London

TREASURE ISLAND, Robert Louis Stevenson’s iconic story of murder, money, and mutiny is currently running in the National Theatre, London, in a new staging by Bryony Lavery.

Galway audiences will be able to enjoy this production, which The Financial Times called “a richly enjoyable experience” and Time Out declared “spectacular”, when it is broadcast live via satellite to the Eye Cinema, Wellpark, on Thursday January 22 at 7pm.

The inn-keeper’s granddaughter, ‘Jim’, opens the door to a terrifying stranger. At the old sailor’s feet sits a huge sea-chest, full of secrets. Jim invites him in – and her dangerous voyage begins.
