Matt Molloy to play Monroe’s Live

THE CHIEFTAINS’ Matt Molloy and London-Irish fiddle great John Carty - both recipients of the TG4 Musician of the Year Award - share the stage at Monroe’s Live on Tuesday January 27.

Matt Molloy is one of the greatest Irish trad flutes players. As well as being a key member of The Chieftains, he also served time in such distinguished groups as The Bothy Band and Planxty. John Carty has released three solo fiddle albums, but he is also an accomplished flautist, banjo player, and guitarist. He has played festivals throughout Europe, North America, and Australasia.

As a duo, Molloy and Carty’s music is rooted in the north Connacht tradition and the duo are renowned for their improvisational skill.
