ACTORS LOOKING to improve their skills as well as those interested in taking up acting, should check out the new term from the Galway Actors Workshop.
Introduction to Acting (Mondays, 6.30pm to 8.30pm ), is for beginners or those who have not acted for some time. It covers basic skills through games, exercises, and improvisations. It starts on January 19.
Scene Study (Tuesdays, 6.30pm to 8.30pm ) is for those with some acting experience. It covers theatrical style, blocking, dialogue, characterisation, movement, line learning, costume choice, props, and working with text. It starts on January 20.
Advanced Performance Skills (Wednesdays, 6.30pm to 9.30pm ) is for advanced students and will explore the Stanislavsky, Brecht, Artaud, and Michael Chekhov techniques. It starts January 21, costs €155/135, and runs for six weeks.
Advanced Performance Project (Thursdays, 6.30pm to 9.30pm ) is for experienced students and by application only. Those interested should email the Galway Actor’s Workshop, outlining your experience by Saturday January 17. The course starts on January 22.

The tutor is actor, director, playwright and teacher Sarah O’Toole while actor, improviser and teacher Conor Geoghegan will give the Introduction to Acting course.
