DAVE IS an underachiever and general slacker. His girlfriend Sabine is a high-achiever. Their relationship is somewhat frayed, and throwing a party for their friends is not going to help.
This is Dumping Dave and Other Stories, a black-comedy devised by Galway Actors Workshop participants, scripted by Donnacha Bushe, and directed by Sarah O’Toole.
The play is made up of interlinked stories, centred around Dave and Sabine, and features angry recovering alcoholic Chris; the dreary Graham; Mark, a gay man confronted with discrimination; Maggie, an elderly bon-viveur; the morally dubious Fred; hapless singer-songwriter Simon; and the unhygienic Annie.
Dumping Dave and Other Stories runs in the Town Hall Studio tomorrow and Saturday at 8.30pm. Tickets are €10/8 from www.tht.ie or 091 - 569777.
