Specsavers opens new Galway store

Specsavers opened its latest store at the Galway Shopping Centre, Headford Road last week creating five new jobs for the area and making it the 48th Specsavers store to open in Ireland.

The opening was attended by Mayor of Galway Cllr Donal Lyons, GAA star Ollie Canning and President of the Galway County Board, Christy Tyrrell who were on hand to officially launch the new store and take part in the ribbon cutting.

Situated in a prime location within the Galway Shopping Centre, the new store houses two dedicated testing rooms overseen by optometrists and co-store directors Noel Meehan and Cathy O’Boyle together with Miriam Murphy, dispensing optician James Kavanagh and highly trained optical assistants Niamh Lynn, Kellie McKee, and Kenneth McNamara, ensuring the highest level of service is delivered. Specsavers stores, located at Eyre Square and on Headford Road, now collectively provide employment for 40 people in Galway.

In addition to being experts in eye health, Specsavers Headford Road will also offer hearing services with a clinic being held every Monday overseen by highly skilled audiologists Adrainne Preston Kelly and Liz Ryan.

With over 1,200 frames on display, including designer ranges from top brands such as Osiris, GW by Gok Wan, FCUK, Cheap Monday, Karl Lagerfeld and Jeff Banks, there really is something to suit everyone’s style.  Staff can also offer customers expert advice to contact lens wearers.

Customers can expect great value offerings at Specsavers Headford Road, with medical cards and PRSI accepted. Specsavers Headford Road is open every weekday from 9.30am to 6pm, 9.30am to 5.30pm on Saturday, with late night opening until 8pm on Thursday and 12:30 to 6pm on Sunday.

Specsavers is a group of independent local businesses, which employs over 900 people nationwide.
