Workshops to motivate jobseekers

Non-profit organisation ProActivate Ireland will be hosting a workshop about motivational techniques for those working with the unemployed on December 15 from 9.30am to 1pm at their offices in Galway city centre.

The workshop is part of an EU-funded project called Activate Inactive, which has been created to enable those working with unemployed people to share best practice in the areas of motivation, encouragement and retraining.

The workshop is open to anyone who would like to learn about motivating others and in particular to those who work with the unemployed regularly, including counsellors, psychologists, social protection advisors, and workers in the charity and non-profit sectors. Call 091 539792 or email [email protected] to book a place.

All those who take part in the workshop will receive a certificate of participation from Activate Inactive to acknowledge their contribution to the workshop.

Activate Inactive has been developed by four partner organisations from across Europe with funding from the European Commission to tackle the serious problems that have arisen from widespread unemployment in recent years.

Often, lack of motivation and diminished self esteem are key factors which make it difficult for people who are unemployed to get back into the labour market. The workshop will explore a number of motivating techniques and will also provide tips about self promotion for unemployed people, which is an essential skill in today’s competitive job market.

The Activate Inactive workshop is a great opportunity to meet other people working in similar fields and become part of an international network of unemployment experts, exchanging ideas and best practice methods in order to encourage and motivate people to find employment.
