Corofin footballers head to London to take on London champions Tír Chonaill Gaels in Ruislip on Sunday (1pm ).
The Galway champions have been in superb form over the past few months and have coasted to victory in their past four or five games.
Hence they are massive favourites to do something similar again this weekend and are minus 13 in the handicap betting, which shows what the bookies expect to happen.
However former Corofin senior manager and current selector Ger Keane is adamant the current squad is taking nothing for granted. Corofin are going to London to do a job, and they are giving the Tír Chonaill Gaels team the respect they deserve.
"We played them at the same venue in 2008 and it was a tight game until we got a goal or two and we finally won by a six or seven points. They have some good players in Mark Gottsche, Philip Butler, Joe Feeney and Eoin O’Neill who have plenty of intercounty experience and we are taking nothing for granted.
“We have seen a video from the London county final and they have some very fine players. With former Leitrim manager Barney Breen in charge, they will be very organised and they will be well revved up to have a right go at winning this game."
Corofin have no injury worries and are flying out from Knock on Saturday afternoon and coming home via Shannon on Sunday evening.
Keane says the prize at stake is huge for both sides and Corofin players know they must be focussed and not to take their eye off a game that needs to be won.
"The winners on Sunday will have an All-Ireland semi-final on the second weekend in February against the Leinster champions (Rhode or St Vincent’s ) and we want to get a ticket for that weekend. Thankfully, we have no injuries at the moment and Justin Burke is making good progress recovering from his knee injury, which is a major positive and will give us options if we are good enough to win this weekend.
"Nobody in our camp is taking this game for granted. We always take each game on its own merits and we always respect our opponents. Our only objective on Sunday is to produce a really good performance and to get home with a win."
The game will be broadcast on Sunday evening from 6-8pm on Irish TV.
