Cork folk and roots musicians for Monroe’s Live

TWO STALWARTS of the Cork folk and roots music scene - Greenshine, the band consisting of Mary Green and Noel Shine, and singer-songwriter Hank Wedel - play Monroe’s Live on Monday December 22.

Life and musical partners Mary Green and Noel Shine have long been among the most respected duos in Irish folk/roots, and together have released the albums The Land You Love The Best, which was billed in the top folk albums of the year by The Irish Times, and its follow-up Unspoken Lines.

The duo have worked with Republic of Loose, Christy Moore, and John Spillane, but for their Monroe’s show they will be joined on stage by their daughter Ellie.

Singer/songwriter Hank Wedel is renowned for his involvement in Cork’s live music scene and through his work with the bands Princes Street and Open Kitchen. In 2012 his single ‘Mighty Fine’ reached No 4 on the Irish iTunes singles charts within two weeks of release. Hank has performed with Kila, Declan Sinnott, Shane McGowan, and Bono.
