Beauty and the Beast - as Gaeilge

An Taibhdhearc panto starts next week

OH NO it’s not! Oh yes it is! The An Taibhdhearc panto is back and this Christmas Beauty and the Beast will get the as Gaeilge make-over as Áille agus Allta from December 17 to 20.

The classic fable about a young woman who finds herself betrothed to a hideous creature, who is eventually won over by his gentle manners, kindness, care, will be performed in a traditional style.

Úna Ní Fhlátharta is Beauty and Eoin Ó Dubhghaill plays the Beast. Tara Breathnach (Tina from Ros na Rún ) plays the part of the Queen, while Diarmuid de Faoite (Corp + Anam ) plays Dilín Ó Deamhas-O’Dea, a wealthy widow from Connemara. The production also involves 27 children and teens from around the city and county:

The show is in Irish but will be accessible for all levels. Doors are at 7.30pm with matinees on Thursday December 18 at 12 noon and Saturday 20 and Sunday 21 at 2.30pm.
