I Draw Slow @ Monroe’s Live

DRAWING ON the sounds of Irish and American folk music, Dublin roots quintet I Draw Slow are “one of the most beguiling and singular acts currently on the circuit”.

So said the Irish Independent about the band that is coming to play Monroe’s Live on Thursday December 11 at 9pm. On the night they will perform material from their Top 10 second album Redhills and third album WhiteWaveChapel which reached No 2 in the Irish charts.

Their old time Americana, bluegrass, and Irish trad fusion, performed on guitar, fiddle, banjo, and double bass has been called “musically ambitious”, resulting in “interesting songs, thoughtfully performed,” according to The Irish Times.

Folk Radio UK said the band are “flat out brilliant” and “give the American top league equivalents a run for their money...destined to blow the opposition away”. Americans obviously agree, having invited the Irish band to play at the Merlefest, Greyfox, Rockygrass, and Pickathon festivals.

Tickets are €10. See www.monroes.ie for more information.
