LITTLE JOHN Nee, the actor, writer, and performer and one of the most iconic and recognisable figures in the Galway arts scene, is about to launch his debut album.
Songs From The Lough Swilly Delta by Little John Nee and The Caledonia Highly Strung Orchestra features songs from Little John’s theatre shows The Derry Boat, The Mental, Dead Rooster Blues, and Sparkplug. The actor, on ukulele and guitar, is accompanied by guitarist Fionn Robinson; vocalist and clarinettist Orlaith Gilcreest; and pianist Jeremy Howard. The album was recorded in Attica Studios, Donegal, and produced by Villagers’ Tommy McLaughlin.
The album will be launched at a concert in the Nuns Island Theatre, tomorrow at 8pm. Tickets are available from the Galway Arts Centre through 091 - 565886.
