BAILE AN Salsa, the Irish trad/Latin music fusion band led by singer Andres Martorell, launch their new album Tribu at Monroe’s Live on Saturday December 6.
Baile an Salsa was formed by Andres who is originally from Montevideo in Uruguay, and features members from across the globe. Musically they mix salsa, rumba, flamenco, and sean nós into a unique style they call ‘salsa trad’ - all of which will be heard on Tribu.
The band have released a debut EP, which charted at No 2 in Colombia and won notice in Asia, where Baile an Salsa songs have been played at salsa festivals in Singapore and China. At home the band have enjoyed airplay on Galway Bay FM, performed on The Late Late Show, and played the Guinness Festival and The Cork Gathering Festival in 2013, and headlined this year’s Temple Bar TradFest.
