Galway WFC look to reignite season on Sunday

Galway WFC return to league action after a week’s break with the visit of Cork City to Eamonn Deacy Park in Sunday’s Continental Tyres WNL (2pm ).

Cork turned out an impressive display to draw 2-2 with Peamount United last weekend, showing determination after going down 2-0.

Sunday’s game will be important for Galway WFC as they try to reignite their season. It will be their first game in a run of three at home over the coming three weeks. After Cork City, it will be the turn of league leaders Wexford Youths, followed by reigning champions Raheny United. As a result GWFC need to get something out of Sunday’s match to allow them build momentum going into their final games of the year.

When the sides met earlier in the season in the league they played out a 2-2 draw, with Galway coming from behind twice. Galway then went on to defeat Cork City in the League Cup.

Admission is €5, children are free.
