Kilkerrin/Clonberne were defeated by 3-11 to 2-12 in the Tesco Senior Ladies All-Ireland semi-final by Termon (Donegal ) last weekend at their home pitch.
Team manager Michael Divilly admitted his players were hugely disappointed by the defeat against the physically strong and well balanced Ulster champions.
"We were disappointed to lose, but we have still had a very good year and we are both county and Connacht champions. On another day we might have performed a bit better, but last Sunday we were beaten by the better side and we wish Termon all the best in the final. We have, in the main, a young side and hopefully we can get back to this level again in the coming years."
On a positive note, in Clonbur, An Fhairche ladies had an easy 4-12 to 2-2 win over Monaghan Harps (Monaghan ) in the Intermediate All-Ireland semi-final and Martin Joyce's squad now face Castleisland Desmonds (Kerry ) in the final.
The Kerry girls defeated Kilmacud Crokes (Dublin ) by 0-16 to 3-03 in their semi-final.
