More than two thousand students to be conferred by GMIT this month

More than 2,100 students will be conferred with awards at GMIT's annual conferring ceremonies which take place in Galway and Mayo over four days

this month, commencing today Thursday 13 November.

The Galway campus conferrings take place in the Radisson Blu Hotel, Galway city, on Thursday Nov 13 and Friday Nov 14 with sessions on Thursday at 11am, 2.30pm and 5.30pm, and on Friday at 11am and 3pm. Some 1,660 students will be conferred with awards in business, engineering, science, tourism & arts, creative arts and media, languages and humanities and heritage studies.

Two new awards will be conferred at the Galway sessions this year for the first time - Bachelor of Science (Honours ) in Forensic Science and Analysis and Bachelor of Business (Honours ) in Culinary Arts Management.

The GMIT Letterfrack Conferring takes place on Friday November 21 on campus commencing 12 noon. Some 100 students will be conferred with awards in furniture design, and manufacture, and teacher education.

The Mayo campus Conferring takes place the following Friday, 28 November, in the Royal Theatre, Castlebar, commencing 11.30am. Over 350 students will receive awards in business, humanities and technology, nursing, health sciences and social studies and outdoor education.
