Former Saltill Devon and Mervue United player Conor O’Malley has been named Shamrock Rovers’ First Division Player of the Year.
O’Malley was chosen by his fellow squad members and team management for the top club award after his first season playing with the Dublin club.
The 20-year-old goalkeeper joined Rovers, managed by Galwayman Colin Hawkins, in February this season, having played in the u-19 League and experienced first division action with the two local Galway clubs.
A product of Westport United, O’Malley was capped three times for Ireland during his youth years. Currently studying at NUI Maynooth, he played in 15 of Rovers’ 28 games - mostly off the bench.
