Eleventh annual McCambridge’s Food and Wine Fair to take place next week

McCambridge’s of Shop Street will celebrate its 11th annual Food and Wine Fair on Thursday November 20 at the Salthill Hotel from 6pm to 10pm.

Proceeds from this year’s event will go to support the work of Pieta House, along with local schools Galway Educate Together, Dominican College, St Joseph’s College ‘The Bish’, Scoil Iognáid, Coláiste Iognáid, Lakeview School, Briarhill National School, and Coláiste na Coiribe. Tickets are available from McCambridge’s and all eight schools, and will be available on the door, at €20.

This year’s food and wine fair will feature some 40 Irish and continental exhibitors, comprising 30 food stalls, six wine merchants each offering samples of six wines, craft brewers Independent Brewing Company from Carraroe, and Dublin’s Teeling Whiskey.

The popular McCambridge’s pop-up shop returns with ambient products and a 15 per cent discount on all wine orders. Orders for Christmas hampers can also be placed and there will be lots of great prizes and goodies to be won on the night.

Cookery demonstrations will take place in association with the Galway Food Festival, promoting local suppliers available at McCambridge’s. These include McCambridge’s head chef Heather Flaherty’s mouthwatering Christmas desserts with a twist, McCambridge’s Matt Cahill’s cocktail demo with Teeling Whiskey, Leroy Marshal’s holiday favourites from The House Hotel, a gourmet wild game demo by Brian McCormack from The Malt House, a cookery demo with The Friendly Farmer’s Ronan Byrne and EAT’s Jp McMahon, and a demo from Brasserie on the Corner’s Joe Flaherty.

New suppliers showcasing their products at the event include Wilkie’s Chocolate (Ireland’s only bean to bar chocolatier ), Richmount Elderflower Cordial, award-winning Crossougue Preserves, soups and seafood pies from Blue Haven, Inch House Puddings (black, white, gluten free ) which also makes delicious porter cakes, Gran Gran’s condiments of mint sauce, horseradish, and spiced chutney, Galway Goat Farm, Griffins Bakery, and Mulberrys will showcase its new SMRT Bar healthier snack option.

Old favourites exhibiting at the Food and Wine Fair include The Friendly Farmer, Aran Islands Goats Cheese, Harvest Moon, Kylemore Abbey, Cooleeney Cheese, award-winning Ponaire Coffee (which provides McCambridge’s in-house blend ), Sicilian Fine Foods, Kilbeggan Organic Porridge & Cookies, Real Olive Company, Bowl a Granola, Ballyshiel Chocolates and Sauces, The Chocolate Garden, Burren Smokehouse, Big Red Kitchen, and Kylemore Acres.
