Cllr Charity to hold a number of public meetings on water tax

Irish Water was “misconceived from its inception” and “should be wound up”, before the “widespread confusion” it has created becomes worse.

This is the view of Independent Galway county councillor James Charity who is due to hold a number of public meetings on the water tax and the controversial quango.

Cllr Charity says the meetings will “offer information to attendees to inform them of all the facts surrounding water charges and permit them to arrive at their own conclusion in an informed manner.”

Meetings will be held in the Maldron Hotel, Oranmore, this evening; on Tuesday November 11 in Peacocke’s, Maam Cross; and on Friday 14 in The Clybaun Hotel, Knocknacarra. All meetings start at 8.30pm and all are welcome.
