Readers of the renowned Condé Nast Traveler magazine have named Ashford Castle as one of the top 10 resorts in Europe.
The historic 83-room castle hotel, which was purchased by a luxury international chain of hotels called the Red Carnation Group in May 2013, was listed second on the list of Europe’s most impressive resorts in which to stay.
Three other Irish hotels made it on to the top 10 list - Sheen Falls Lodge in Kerry, The K Club in Kildare, and Adare Manor, Limerick.
The Condé Nast Traveler’s Readers’ Choice Awards are published annually and this year the winners were decided by more than one million votes from 77,000 readers.
