Boost your heart health at Croi fashion show

Croí, the local heart and stroke charity, will hold a fashion evening tonight (Thursday ) at the Radisson Hotel at 7.30pm.

It will be a major event with Lisa Cannon from Xposé as MC. There will be a drinks reception, industry stands, exhibitors, and great giveaways. Five hundred people are expected to attend.

Th evening will not only aim to raise funds for Croí but is part of its strategic plan to raise awareness of the fact that heart disease and stroke are the biggest killers of women in Ireland (and worldwide ).

The Women at Heart Campaign will be used to raise awareness, promote healthier lifestyles among women and ultimately help to reduce the impact cardiovascular disease has on families.

Funds raised from the event will be used to help Croí finance a Women at Heart regional awareness roadshow planned for early 2015. It will travel around the west of the country giving free public health talks, dietary advice and blood pressure and pulse checks for women.

Speaking about the fashion event, a Croi spokesperson says it will be “really upbeat and positive” to help educate and empower women to make their heart health a priority.

“ Croí want to highlight the facts, but focus on what women can do to help reduce their risk of cardiovascular disease. On the night women who have gone through a cardiovascular event will feature in the show.”

Tickets are €25 and can be purchased online via www.croi.ie/event/women-heart-fashion-extravaganza A limited number will be available on the door on the night. The evening will kick off with a drinks reception at 7.30pm followed by the show at 8pm
