Investor and first time buyer properties set to dominate DNG November auction

Leading local agent DNG Maxwell Heaslip & Leonard is gearing up for its final auctions of 2014. The successful September auctions hosted by the company confirmed the interest by both first time buyers and investors in the market and the same trend looks set to continue for the November auctions.

With the confirmation in Budget 2015 that the tax breaks for investors who acquire an investment property and keep it for seven years will expire at year end, investors are keen to avail of this incentive while they still can. Commenting on this, James Heaslip of DNG Maxwell Heaslip & Leonard said: “Investors were very keen on property in our September auctions, anxious to avail of the tax incentives relating to CGT, we have a number of properties in our November auctions which we also expect to appeal to investors.

“First time buyers are another group of buyers who are very active at the moment and appear keen to purchase before year end,” he added. “Again we have a number of properties ideally suited to first time buyers in the November auction.”

The November auctions will see 16 lots in total come to the auction floor, and again interest in the lots is expected to be high as the property market shows increasing signs of recovery.
