THE NEW York Metropolitan Opera’s production of Mozart’s comic masterpiece, The Marriage of Figaro is being broadcast to The Eye Cinema this weekend.
The Marriage of Figaro will be screened live, via satellite, to The Eye this Saturday at 6pm. An upstairs-downstairs romantic comedy, it features some of the most sublimely beautiful music written for the human voice. The cast is bass-baritone Ildar Abdrazakov as Figaro, Marlis Petersen, Peter Mattei, Amanda Meski, and Isabel Leonard. The conductor is James Levine. This staging will set the opera in a great 19th century manor house in Seville.
