Digital Marketing worth thousands to help SMEs enhance online presence

Online trading vouchers to the value of €2,500 are now available for small businesses through your Local Enterprise Office.

The Local Enterprise Office Galway is marking SME Week October 13-15 with a roadshow around Galway which will provide information on Digital Marketing: what is it and how to use it for your business.

The Roadshow features Maricka Burke Keogh Founder of Online Marketing in Galway and Breda Fox, Head of Enterprise of the Local Enterprise Office Galway. Ms Burke Keogh will demystify the world of digital marketing and explain what it is and how you can use it, as an entrepreneur; business owner or employee.

Ms Fox will provide information on the new Online Trading Voucher scheme; discuss who is eligible and how to apply. She will give a briefing on the microfinance scheme which is now available for micro and small and medium businesses.

Both speakers are there to share their experiences and offer advice, support and encouragement. Breda Fox said: “We are looking forward to meeting people who either have an idea to start a business or who may be at the early stage start up or existing businesses thinking of new products or markets”.

The roadshow will visit the following towns:

· October 13 - Clifden, The Theatre, Station House Hotel. 7-8pm

· October 14 - Tuam from 7-8pm Ard Ri Hotel. 7-8pm; Microfinance Briefing, Menlo Park Hotal, Galway City. 1-3pm.

· October 15 - Portumna, the Social Centre, Retirement Village, Brendans Road, Portumna. 7-8pm

Ms Fox says the roadshow allows us to meet local entrepreneurs and small businesses to share information on supports.

“I will be available to offer information about all of the supports we offer and answer any questions that people may have and Maricka Burke-Keogh will help shed light on the world of digital marketing.

It is important that people know that the Local Enterprise Office, other entrepreneurs and experts are available and willing to share their experiences and to help. Our policy is to try and help anyone with a business or business idea.

Sometimes it is training; mentoring or financial support that is required or quite often a combination of supports which help refocus the business. We see each idea or business as unique and deserving of support”.
