The Michael Diskin Arts Award will close to applicants on Friday October 17 at 5pm, following a one-month extension to its original application deadline.
Applications are sought from arts groups and individuals throughout Galway city and county for a performance piece, and a bursary of €5000 will be awarded to the winning applicant, following a period of adjudication.
The bursary will be awarded to a new or emerging artist/arts group for an original idea that will culminate in a performance piece, be it a new play or musical performance in a traditional theatre setting, or other performance which might incorporate, drama, music, dance or other artistic form that can be performed in a different arena - outdoors or indoors. According to the Diskin Bursary Committee, “The key is to submit an original and engaging proposal that will culminate in a shared cultural experience”.
