Moxie - Irish trad spliced with bluegrass and Jazz

Band to play Album launch show in Monroe's Live

BLUEGRASS, JAZZ, vocal harmonies, and world music rhythms, fed through the prism of Irish trad - this is the sonic essence of Irish band Moxie.

Moxie - Cillian Doheny (tenor banjo/guitar ), Jos Kelly (button accordion/keyboard ), Darren Roche (button accordion ), Ted Kelly (tenor banjo ) and Paddy Hazelton (percussion ) - play Monroe’s Live tomorrow (Thursday October 2 ) at 8.30pm as part of a series of sates to promote their debut album Planted. The band have supported major Irish trad acts like Dervish, Kila, and Frankie Gavin and The New De Dannan. Solas member and leading trad fiddle player Winifred Horan called Moxie’s music “soulful, sexy and full of passion” who play Irish trad “with many beautiful twists and turns...stunning harmonies and class playing from top to bottom”.
