Galway householders are being asked not to fill in the forms from Irish Water or to give the controversial company any information.
The call has come from The Right 2 Water Campaign, which will hold a public meeting this evening at 7.30pm in the Glenoaks Hotel, Rahoon. Hosted by the People Before Profit Alliance, the meeting give an insight into how the campaign against water charges is working around the State and ideas on how it can be successful in Galway.
“Instead of water charges, we need a fairer taxation system,” a spokesman for R2WC said. “We need proper investment in the water infrastructure as well as investment in creating jobs and protecting public services. By working together, at a local, regional and national level, people power can force the Government to scrap the charges.”
The Right 2 Water Campaign has organised in a number of estates in Westside and Knocknacarra and will be involved in a national demonstration on October 11.
