Gigs galore for Guinness AMPLIFY weekender

THE MINUTES, Duke Special, Kormac & His Big Band, Kíla, KeyWest, and The Hot Sprockets are coming to Galway to play the Guinness AMPLIFY weekender.

Guinness AMPLIFY takes place from Thursday September 25 to Monday 29 and will see 42 acts plays across 21 Galway city venues over four nights.

Dublin trio The Minutes have been enjoying a great year so far, with their album Live Well, Change Often enjoying critical acclaim. Golden Plec called it “bigger, ballsier and better than anyone could have expected”, while The Last Mixed Tape described it as a “simply infectious release that grabs and holds the attention from beginning to end”. The band release their new single ‘Hold Your Hand’ on October 24.

Other acts playing the weekender are Acoustra, Animal Beats, Ben Reel Band, Blades Club, Bunoscionn, Canaries, Corner Boy, Crow Black Chicken, Derek Ellard, Elaine Mai, Electric Ceili, Harrison & The Devil, Harrison Tweed, Havana House Party, Hogan, Joe Casey, Kicking Bird, Leading Armies, Mojo Gogo, Moone Boys, My Violet, Na Fianna, Newfoundland, OGMA, Other Kind, Paddy Hana, Rye River Band, Ruggedwood, Vitro, The Academic, The Blood Red Mountain Band, and The Notes.

Another of the acts to take note of is Galway singer-songwriter Chris Haze.

Venues hosting gigs are located in the west end of the city, the Latin Quarter, Shop Street, Woodquay, Eyre Square, and Prospect Hill.
