New short film festival takes place this month

Sketches and junior shorts needed

THE LITTLE Cinema Club is to hold its first festival, screening an array of short films between September 26 and 28 in the Nuns Island Theatre.

The organisers are looking for people to make short comedy sketches to be screened on the opening night of the festival.

Entrants can submit as many sketches as they want, but sketches must be under three minutes and must not have been previously screened publicly. The film-maker can attend to introduce the sketch on the night. The deadline for submissions is Tuesday September 23.

The Little Cinema is also seeking young people under 18, who are interested in film, to submit shorts to screen in the Junior Little Cinema strand on Saturday 2. The films do not have to be new shorts.

The festival will be rounded off with a screening of never before seen shorts on the Sunday.
