GALWAY TEENS keen on film and writing, who have a story to share, and who think they can pitch it to a room full of people, are being sought by the Junior Galway Film Fleadh.
The JGFF takes place from Wednesday November 12 to Saturday 15 and will showcase French, German, and Spanish films to tie into school curricula as well as a host of short film programmes and workshops for future filmmakers. Among these events is the seventh annual Story Pitching Competition, open to those between 12 and 18 years of age.
Young people interested are invited to send in an idea for a story (c500 words ) for a feature film, webseries, short film, documentary, book, or video game. It is advised to begin by drafting your idea, then practice it in front of family and friends.
Of the ideas, three will be chosen to be presented in the Town Hall Theatre to an assembled audience and jury during the festival on Thursday November 13. The winner will receive a year’s membership of the Galway Film Centre, including a place on one of its drama or animation film summer camps.
Entry forms are available from www.galwayfilmfleadh.com The closing date for entries is Friday October 17. The full programme for the Junior Galway Film Fleadh will be announced at the end of September.
