Simon Evans @ The Comedy Club

Well spoken and delectably dry, Brighton’s Simon Evans (pictured ) plays the Comedy Club at Cuba* tomorrow. He dresses smartly, does not use bad language, has an arrogant and snobbish stage manner, and makes no concessions to likeability. Instead he uses brilliantly witty, sarcastic, and intelligent humour to win over audiences. Support is from Tony Smyth. Gerry Mallon is the MC. Tickets are available in advance at Bar 903, The Cellar Bar, and at the door which opens at 8.30pm.

Pappy’s Fun Club @ The Laughter Lounge

The 2008 Chortle Award winners Pappy’s Fun Club (pictured ) return to the Laughter Lounge in the Róisín Dubh on Wednesday February 4. This extremely likeable and very funny English sketch comedy troupe have been praised by The Guardian for their “effective combination of intelligence and idiocy”. Tickets are available from the Róisín Dubh and Zhivago.

Gigglish Allsorts is back in the upstairs bar of the Róisín Dubh tonight at 8.30pm with the 2006 Bulmers Comedy Competition winner Neil Hickey, Bernard Higgins, and sketches from Giles Brody and Bob Hennigan (pictured ). Admission is €7.
