Brighten up your autumn evenings at the Galway Actors Workshop

Autumn is definitely here and it is time to start choosing what to do with those colder, darker, evenings. Why not consider taking a drama class to brighten things up?

The Galway Actors Workshop caters to a variety of levels, from those who have always wanted to give it a try, to professional actors who would like to learn some new skills. All courses take place in the Anno Santo Hotel, Salthill.

This autumn there are a series of evening and weekend courses, as well as private one to one lessons available.

All evening courses cost €210/€180 (students/ unemployed/equity ) to be paid by first day of term. To enquire or secure a place by deposit, call 087 2373531 or email [email protected]. The tutor is Sarah O’Toole, who is an accomplished actor, director, playwright, and teacher with Anam Theatre, Theatrecorp, NUI Galway.

Private lessons are at a rate of €30 per hour. Call 087 237 3531 or email [email protected] to book.

Claire Healy will be offering private one-to-one singing lessons for the week between September 6/7 and September 13/14, and is available daytime or evening.

If you are preparing for a drama school audition or trying out for a play or film, sometimes an hour or two of one-on-one tuition at a time that suits you is just what you need in order to feel confident. Generally it is about choosing suitable monologues and getting them to performance level, but the tutors at the Galway Actors Workshop can also prepare scene read-throughs, speeches, and work on general audition and public speaking skills. Sarah O’Toole’s availability is ongoing and can be daytime or evening.
