The Spanish Institute courses and charity table quiz

On Friday last week, The Spanish Institute celebrated the launch of its new course schedule with an evening of wine and tortilla.

Guests enjoyed some authentic Spanish cuisine, provided by local tapas bar, Deli La Tasca, and learned about the new term of classes beginning at the end of this month.

The adult courses on offer range from beginner to advanced and there are also options available to children and teenagers. The fully qualified teachers at the institute are all native Spanish speakers and incorporate modern didactic technology into their classes. The courses at The Spanish Institute offer learners a comprehensive programme of study that has been designed with a heavy emphasis on oral practice. Their team are committed to finding the right course for each student and helping them to meet their individual language learning goals.

Having sponsored and hosted a number of successful Spanish themed events so far, The Spanish Institute is organising a fundraising table quiz in aid of local Galway charity, COPE. The table quiz will be held in The Cottage Bar on September 11 at 7pm. It will be general knowledge based but there will also be a bonus point in every round for a Spanish themed question. It costs €40 for a table of four people and the Cottage Bar will donate a meal for four to the winning team. There will also be a runner up prize and a raffle prize. If anyone is interested in the quiz but does not have a full table, The Spanish Institute can help people to find a team.

COPE is a charity very much at the heart of Galway. The dedicated team strives to improve the quality of life of people affected by homelessness, women and children experiencing domestic violence, and older people. The Spanish Institute is proud to contribute towards the organisation’s incredible work and hopes to raise as much money as possible for this very important cause.

If you would like to book a table at the quiz or find out more about the courses on offer, contact The Spanish Institute by email at [email protected] or by phone at (091 ) 566759.
