It’s about to get soapy as Ros na Rún returns

Production of Ireland’s only rural television drama, Ros na Rún, recently got underway creating more than 140 jobs and airing the first episode of the 19th series on TG4 earlier this week.

With 75 crew members, 13 directors, 13 writers, 26 weekly actors, 15 daily actors, and approximately 35 extras hired each week, the production of Ros na Rún is a big operation. In fact, it is the single largest independent production commissioned in the history of Irish broadcasting.

The explosive finale of series 18 left viewers eagerly awaiting answers. Will Cathal and Dara’s car accident prove fatal? Who cut the brake lines of the car? Will Lee and her baby come through the traumatic birth safely? Is it happily ever after for Micheál? All will be revealed in the 19th series which returned to TG4 with a bang on Tuesday, September 2, at 8.30pm.

The combination of drama, edge of your seat storylines, loveable - and hateable - characters, ensures that Ros na Rún remains a staple in the channel’s schedule after almost two decades, as it returns to screens for its 19th series. Prepare to welcome some new characters, witness shock departures and watch awestruck as your favourite characters have their worlds turned upsidedown, leaving you begging for more. Get ready for more drama and excitement on TG4 every Tuesday and Thursday night at 8.30pm, with an omnibus edition on Sunday nights at 10.30pm.
