RISING IRISH indie and alternative-rock bands will be taking to the stage of Monroe’s Live on Friday September 12 as part of the AMA Emerging Talent Tour.
Dublin quartet Color // Sound combine the influences of Explosions In The Sky, Elliott Smith and Radiohead, and no less a man than Uachtarán na hÉireann Michael D Higgins said they are “really getting it right”.
The band - Brendan McGlynn, Oisín Furlong, Steven McCann, and Ben Roe - won acclaim for their performance at Electric Picnic and they have supported Cathy Davey, Villagers, and the Divine Comedy.
.
Another Dublin band on the bill are Otherkin (pictured above ), who have impressed many since releasing their debut EP Broken English and, their second EP As A High, earlier this year. The band’s sound ranges from deep lyrical rock ballads to songs driven by electro and guitar riffs. Otherkin have played support to Palma Violets and the Trinity Ball 2014.
Doors are at 9pm. Admission is free. For more information see www.monroes.ie
