Two heavy metal bands launch EPs in the Cellar tomorrow

Two metal bands, Nautilus and Weed Priest, will be launching their new releases in the Cellar tomorrow night.

Nautilus

Nautilus are a five piece stoner metal act from Rush, Dublin. They began as a recording project in 2011, releasing their first EP Trials in early 2013, and since then have been gigging regularly around the Irish circuit.

Their second self-titled EP is full of groovy downtuned blues-based stoner metal with fuzzy guitars and brutal growling vocals in the vein of such bands as St Vitus, The Obsessed, and Orange Goblin. The EP is officially out since early August and the Galway gig is part of their EP promotion tour around the country.

Weed Priest

Galway doomsters Weed Priest will be launching their EP, Worship, which is also their second official release. The band have been around for almost five years now, playing gigs all over Ireland and sharing the stage with such metal acts as Church of Misery, Wounded Kings, Meth Drinker, Hell, and Hour of 13.

Their first album was very well received by audience and reviewers. The Worship EP is a compilation of songs recorded from 2010 to 2013 with the old line-up. It offers some old school Sabbatish mix of sludge, doom, stoner metal, occultism, and heavy psychedelic rock. This is one of the last Weed Priest performances this year as they are planning to focus thier attentions on their next full-length album, due out early next year.

Releases of both bands are available at their bandcamp websites: nautilusmusic1.bandcamp.com and weedpriest.bandcamp.com

The event is organized by HexenHaus Promotions. Support on the night will be from Limerick doom metal band No Mans Land. Admission is €3 and doors open at 9pm tomorrow.
