On Friday September 5, Monroe’s Live will host a charity fundraiser in aid of the Irish Cancer Society featuring music from Sweet Attrition and Franklin Tree.
A local band from Athenry, Sweet Attrition features Sinead Murphy on vocals and guitar; Paul Mahony, also on vocals and guitar; Dessie Pratt on vocals and bass; John Lawrence on guitar; and Adam Feeney on drums. They are a covers band who play music from all genres, covering anything from Dolly Parton to Foo Fighters, making the songs their own.
Franklin Tree is an original alt-rock outfit based in Galway city. After forming in January of this year, the band came second place in NUIG's Witless competition and have since been working on their original music. Franklin Tree are Lisanne Jacob on vocals, Sean Hehir on lead guitar, David McDonagh on rhythym guitar, Dave Cigs on bass, and Tobi Kaye on drums.
