Connecting with pride and passion in Doughiska

The second annual Connect Intercultural Festival will take place this Saturday August 23 from 10am to 6pm in Merlin Woods City Park and the Cumasú Centre on Doughiska Road.

The festival celebrates the rich diversity of the Ardaun, Roscam, and Doughiska areas, which are home to many different nationalities.

Local residents come together to organise the event, which is being supported by the Ard Family Resource Centre and the Galway City Council.

On the day there will be many activities for all to enjoy including international food tasting, live music with salsa band La Orquestra Kalamares, community musicians and singers, a drumming workshop, sporting activities, craft demonstrations, children activities, family yoga, and international storytelling.

Further information can be found on the Connect Intercultural Group page on Facebook, and festival timetables from the Ard Family Resource centre on (091 ) 768852 or via email at [email protected].

All events are free and all ages are welcome.
