The Galway Study Centre at Mill Street, as part of its August summer programme, will be offering courses in Leaving Cert mathematics (algebra, differentiation, and trigonometry ) and Leaving Cert English (paper 1 ) from next Monday, August 18. The centre has consistently provided an excellent learning experience to students for more than 30 years. A team of experienced and enthusiastic teachers maintain a superb teaching reputation and strive continually to help students achieve the best possible grades so they can reach their true academic potential.
Classes take place after school, in the evening, and on Saturdays. All the main subjects are offered including English, Irish, French, maths, and all the business and science subjects. Additionally, intensive revision courses are provided during the Christmas and Easter holidays. Shorter day and weekend courses take place at other times throughout the year for the oral examinations, as well as specialised day seminars/workshops on various Leaving Cert topics. Also, study skills start from the end of September teaching students effective study techniques and helping them to develop efficient study routines. These take place on one evening a week over a four to five week period.
A separate Leaving Cert higher level Irish course for mature students is offered on Tuesday nights from 6.30pm to 8.30pm for students who need grade C or above for entry into a teacher training college.
