Have a fresh look at our city in Show Me Galway - Winter

Galwegians will be snapping, shooting, and drawing Galway on Saturday at a special event that will be a a one day photography, sketch challenge, and outdoor time challenge event all rolled into one.

The event, entitled Show Me Galway - Winter, takes place this Saturday, beginning at Bar No 8 at 10.30am. The organisers hope it will result in a “reinvigorated view of the streets we live in” while the photographs and drawings made on the day will be archived for the future.

At noon on Saturday, a list of items will be revealed to registered teams. Teams, which can be individual or made up of a maximum of four members, will comprise participants carrying cameras, mobile phones, or sketch pads. Entrants must bring their own digital cameras.

They will then comb Galway in a challenge to interpret the list in their own unique way.

To qualify for exhibiting, all entrants must be signed back in for sunset. Thirty minutes is then allowed for teams to decide which shots they will submit from their day’s shooting. Their efforts will be exhibited in City Hall during Easter. The event will close with an after-party starting at 8.30pm.

For more information email [email protected] or www.myspace.com/showmegalway Registration forms are also available from Bar No 8, Matt O’Flaherty’s chemists, and City Hall. The Registration desk will close 30 minutes before the competition on Saturday.
