Charity Moonlight Walk to take place in Oughterard

A ‘Moonlight Walk’ to raise funds for a community park in Oughterard, will take place in the village on Saturday August 9.

The 4k walk, in aid of the Corribdale Park development fund, will follow a route from Keogh’s Bar in the centre of the village to the cemetery, turning down Station Road as far as the carpet factory and returning back to Keogh’s.

The event begins in Keogh’s Bar with entertainment and registration from 8.30pm with the walk starting at 10pm. All participants will get glow bands and a finishers Moonlight Walk medal.

“We hope to make this an annual event in Oughterard,” says walk organiser Sinéad Grimes. “By getting involved in this special walk, people are not only guaranteed a fun-filled evening but also a sense of achievement at having raised vital funds for such a worthwhile community facility.”

After the walk there will be further live entertainment, a raffle, and cocktails, with all proceeds again going towards the Corribdale Park development fund.

Registration costs €10 and event is open to over 16’s only. See oughterardmoonlightwalk.webs.com
