Clifden to host inaugural Sky Road TV & Film Festival

THE FIRST Sky Road TV & Film Festival, which seeks to highlight Irish film, TV, and digital media, takes place in the Station House Theatre, Clifden, from September 5 to 7.

The festival will host competition categories, including Best Feature Film and Best Short Film, Best Feature Documentary, Best Short Documentary, and Best Documentary Series. There will also be awards for short films, ranging from 10 seconds to three minutes, shot and edited on mobile or a smart device.

There will be workshops in animation, cinematography, acting, and video editing, and the organisers are keen that community groups, schools, and third level colleges be involved as well as film-makers, producers, and broadcasters.

“Our aim is to give Irish filmmakers a better opportunity to screen their content at festival level,” said festival chair Eamonn Ó Cualáin. “If you have a new documentary or film in post production, Sky Road is the festival to screen it.”
