FEATURING X, the Louth indie-rock/alternative pop quintet, whose song ‘Wild Love’ is clocking up serious hits on YouTube, play the Galway Fringe Festival.
The band - Niamh Sharkey (vocals ), Dara Farrelly (lead guitar ), Eleanor Rogers (guitar ), Sarah McLaughlin (bass ), Jenny McKeown (drums ) - play a late show at The Victoria Hotel on Wednesday July 23 at 1pm.
The video for ‘Wild Love’ is an ironic tribute to one of the most iconic music videos of the 1980s - Robert Palmer’s Addicted To Love’. The song went live the day the band sat their Leaving Cert and has since clocked 6,000 views. It was also released as a single on iTunes last month.Speaking about the video, director Gavin Kilduff said: “‘Addicted to Love’, being one of the most iconic images of women within music videos, it always bothered me that none of the women could actually play their instruments but were there purely as set dressing. Meeting and seeing how talented Featuring X were, I felt they would be the perfect group to subvert that famous imagery.”
Further prise from the band has come from Krank.ie who described them as having “massive potential” and as “ones to watch out for in the future”. Featuring X have also been profiled on Her.ie and the Irish Independent.
