Aindrias de Staic - The Man from Moogaga

THERE WAS The Man from UNCLE, later there was ‘the man from Del Monte’, but right now there is Aindrias de Staic, and he is The Man from Moogaga.

Football, music, comedy, theatre, and mayhem collide in de Stac’s comic tale of jigs, reels, and growing up in rural west of Ireland, which is part of the Galway Fringe Festival.

Despite having a natural talent for music, the man from Moogaga’s dream is to play football for his parish team. Unfortunately he has no talent when it comes to sport. After a period of travelling the world, he returns home to find his local team in the final, and suddenly, the man from Moogaga’s musical skills are called upon to help inspire the team to victory.

“Everywhere I go, I find I’m talking about the towns, villages, and characters I knew in my youth,” says de Staic. “The show has just developed naturally from these songs and stories. The Man from Moogaga is about the small town Ireland of the eighties and nineties, a really crazy place!”

The Man from Moogaga runs at Padraig’s Place, New Dock Road, from July 21 to 27 at 8pm. For tickets see galwayfringe.ie
