Equestrian fun at Roscahill for Special Olympics

Ower Equestrian Centre in Roscahill will hold its annual charity event in aid of Galway West Special Olympics Equestrian Club on Sunday August 10 from 12.30pm.

The event will include showjumping, dressage, musical ride by Special Olympic riders, and a special demonstration to music by Owers’ dressage coach, who has been invited to perfom the routine at the FEI European Championship for ponies in Millstreet.

Visitors can enjoy the bouncy castle, face painting, pony rides, and fun for all the family.

Therapeutic horseback riding can have a dramatic impact on the physical and cognitive development on children with special needs. They gain a sense of independence, freedom to partake in something they can truly enjoy, while improving their balance, coordination, social skills and self confidence.
