Joyce’s acquires Indreabhán supermarket

Joyce’s Supermarkets has acquired Siopa an Phobail, in Indreabhán, Connemara.

Siopa an Phobail, which was in receivership, employs some 40 staff members, and Pat Joyce, managing director of Joyce’s Supermarkets, has pledged to keep the store open and to re-invest in the business.

The acquisition brings the number of Joyce’s Supermarkets to five with outlets also in Athenry, Headford, Knocknacarra and Tuam. The group is managed by Pat Joyce, son of the founder Patrick Joyce Senior, and remains an independent, family-run, supermarket chain employing more than 350 staff.
